Although it is not an organic material (it cannot be composted) it is still an eco-friendly material option, be it for the reason that it is material that is saved from going to a landfill.

The zipper consists solely of polyester, which isn't a very sustainable material. However, because both the coil (teeth) and the tape are made from the same material it makes the recycling way easier than if they are a different material. The metal for the slider is the most durable and robust option.
The Obvious x UAntwerp brand label is woven withpolyesteryarn of which50 procentisrecycled. It's Oeko-Tex 100 certified, which means it's clear of any toxic materials and is safe for skin contact.
